Where You Can Actually Swim in Mauritius

A beach in a photograph tells you nothing about getting into the water. Reef shelf and sea urchins, a low-tide walk out to anything swimmable, seagrass, current, surf, seasonal seaweed, a shore that drops away too fast for children. "Beachfront" is a location claim, not a swimming one, and the two come apart constantly.

This page reads what guests in Mauritius described about actually getting in the sea — depth, entry, tides and what the water was like when they were there. Conditions here shift with the season, and these findings reflect recent reviews rather than a year-round verdict. Every finding links to its source.
